What is RESPAWN?
RESPAWN Partners provides University of Utah units and faculty with sustained access to high-performance computing and immersive systems.
The program redeploys excess or second-generation high-end systems previously used in Division of Games teaching and research — including:
-
High-performance game development PCs
-
VR and AR headsets
-
Specialized input devices
-
Capture and visualization infrastructure
By extending the life of these systems, RESPAWN:
-
Expands access to advanced technology
-
Strengthens cross-campus collaboration
-
Maximizes institutional investment
-
Builds distributed research capacity
The goal: reduce friction for teams that need advanced systems — and help great ideas get back into motion.
