Professor Rogelio is an expert in AI, psychology, and game design. At Utah Games, Rogelio directs the Laboratory for Quantitative Experience Design, which develops technologies to support designing playful artifacts that convey stories. Rogelio has earned the National Science Foundation’s CAREER award, and served as a Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellow.
Prior to Utah, they were a research scientist at Sandia National Labs and Disney Research. Rogelio earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from NC State, and a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez.
Fernando J. Rodríguez, Ph.D. (he | him)

Professor Fernando Rodríguez is an expert in computer science education, collaboration, and serious games. At Utah Games, Dr. Rodríguez is an award-winning teacher within the College of Engineering, and serves as Assistant Director of Undergraduate Studies. He teaches Survey of Games, Game Scripting, and Capstone I and II.
Prior to Utah, Fernando earned a Ph.D. in Human-Centered Computing from the University of Florida, a M.Sc. in Computer Science from NC State, and a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez.
José P. Zagal, Ph.D. (he | him)

Professor José Zagal is an expert in game studies and game design. At Utah Games, he conducts research and teaching on video game ethics and is also Editor-In-Chief of the peer-reviewed journal Transactions of the Digital Games Research Association (ToDiGRA). Dr. Zagal was honored as both a DiGRA Distinguished Scholar and as a Fellow of the Higher-Education Videogame Alliance (HEVGA) for his contributions to games research.
\Prior to Utah, José earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and both a M.Sc. in Engineering Sciences and B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
