Talk title: Optimizing Your Game: Beyond the Basics

Description:
Game optimization can be something between a dark art and a rabbit hole. It is tempting to seek radical algorithms, and fancy culling techniques to extract that last bit of performance in a game. In this talk, however, I will make a case for a better way of thinking about your code. Understanding how modern hardware works, and making small adjustments to the way you write code, can dramatically help improve performance.
Bio:
Dr. Sajid Farooq has been pushing pixels since the days of the Commodore 64 in BASIC, and has been using graphics software since 3D Studio r4 in DOS. He is currently a professor of Game Programming at Champlain College, and the founder of FurtherX, a company creating procedural technology for games.
